David (USA) and Anne (Brazil) - December/2003

"Hi Ms Moreira:  I just wanted to thank you again for setting up a wonderful site, which has allowed me to meet the most amazing woman in the world!  I know alot of people are skeptical of using the internet to meet other people, but it is the only real way for people all from different cultures to greet and meet each other.  And when a woman responds to a man from an introductory letter, it is a wonderful moment.  But when a woman writes a man, well, we all know that women "choose" their men.....it is truly a blessed event!  So it is that Anne contacted me directly, and after my brief visit to her, we have fallen deeply and passionately in love!

So, thank you again.  I would recommend this site to anyone wishing to meet someone from Brazil.

Best regards, David"

CEK (USA) and Cristina (Brazil) - June/2003

"Dear Cara Metade,

I first traveled from my home in America to Brazil in 2001. I visited Rio de Janeiro for a vacation. At that time, I knew nothing about Brazil, but I very quickly fell in love with the country, the wonderful people, the culture and the natural beauty.  When I returned home, I began researching Brazil, its history, its literature, its geography and especially the wonderful music. And of course, my next vacation, in 2002, was again in Brazil. My positive feelings were confirmed, and I decided that I would try to find a Brazilian lady to marry. This decision was based on several considerations: First, Brazilians seem to have a passion and appreciation for life that is unique; I think that I could learn about life from a Brazilian lady. Second, of course, Brazilian woman are very beautiful, in general. Third, I would like to have a permanent connection to Brazil, as something other than a tourist. That is why I joined Cara Metade after my second visit.

It did not take long for me to find a beautiful, intelligent lady through Cara Metade. We have corresponded for several months, and soon I will spend some time with her in Brazil. I believe that this woman is the love of my life, and I hope that she will be my wife. I think that she is everything I dreamed of when I first committed myself to finding a Brazilian beauty. I will know very soon.

I want to thank Cara Metade for making this possible.
Sincerely, CEK"

Kenneth (USA) and Arlete (Brazil) - February/2003

" I  met Arlete through your services a number of months ago. After a long email and telephone relationship, I finally decided to travel to Brazil to meet her and her family.

Once there, and after spending 10 days with her and her family, I decided to ask her to marry me. She accepted and we then started the process of having the paperwork accepted by the local Cartorio. That was a process which I will never want to go through again.

Many web-sites said that I had to get all my documents from the United States authenticated by numerous government agencies including the Brazilian Consulate, only to find out the once I was there and speaking to the Cartorio, it was all unnecessary. But..since it was already done, I had to get every single piece of paper translated into Portuguese. That was a costly process which I didn't need to go through.

Come to find out, all I really needed was an original copy of my birth certificate, divorce document and first marriage license. As long as they were translated, it was perfectly acceptable by the cartorio. All the additional authentication certificates were a waste of time as well as money. But since the authentications were already attached to my documents, they too, had to be translated.

Once that was all completed, we set a date and I flew back down to her home town in Brazil....which is a most beautiful country. The people are so friendly and helpful. I only wish I spoke Portuguese better than I did. But Arlete and her sister spoke good English so they were a great help.

We were married in the Cartorio's office on a Saturday with her family and friends present. We then went back to her home and had a great party by her swimming pool where many more friends showed up.

The party was simple yet elegant. The food was absolutely fantastic and much more to eat then you can imagine.

The following day we went to Sao Paulo and stayed there for 5 days, touring the city and seeing all it had to offer. From museums to parks, zoos, to downtown shopping with the street vendors. It was all so nice and the weather was so much better than the 12 inches of snow they were receiving back where I lived.

We went to the U.S. Consulate to submit the necessary papers for Arlete to come to the U.S. (these papers did not need to be translated into English or be authenticated)The Consulate people were very helpful in every way and there was no problems. They informed us that the papers would be sent to the Consulate in Rio since they were the only ones who actually issued the K-3 Visa's.

That it would take approximately 1 month for Arlete to receive papers from the Consulate which were needed for her medical exam as well as her police records search. Then she would be called to Rio for the interview and issued the K-3 Visa. All of the would take approximately 3 months. Although this may sound like a long time, it is relatively short compared to the length of time others have to wait in order to get to the U.S.

I left Sao Paulo with notarized copies of our marriage certificate as well as a copy of Arlete birth certificate. Both with translations attached. This in order to file additional papers here in the U.S. to speed things along.

I found out that the process of getting married as well as bringing your wife back to the U.S. is much easier and less complicated than it was first told to me by these various web-sites in the U.S. You do not need an attorney, just common sense as well as some patience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth"
